Stand with drawer is in great shape and both were handmade, likely in the 19th century. Desk could be used on its own or on the stand.

Note that the box/desk has a hinged top which opens to a spacious interior with a removable shelf along the back. The slant top box itself is 29 3/4 " wide, 17.5" deep and 15 1/2" high. The wood is thick and solid.

The base is 31 1/4" wide, 18 3/4" deep and 27 3/4" tall.

Together, the base and the desk are 43 1/4" tall. at the back, 38 1/2" tall at the front, 31 1/4" wide and 18 3/4" deep.

With its simple lines, this ancient desk has a modern sensibility and would be perfect for storing anything you'd like out of sight but close at hand. Its patina and handmade details make it a statement piece.
