A spectacular Mexican silver pitcher designed and handcrafted by Emilia Castillo, one of Mexico’s most celebrated contemporary silversmiths. Daughter of master silversmith Antonio Castillo, Emilia carries forward the legacy of the renowned Castillo family dynasty of Taxco, Guerrero, while introducing her own distinctive artistic vision.
This striking pitcher is designed in a sculptural leaf form, richly textured with incised diagonal lines. A finely detailed dragonfly appliqué with lapis lazuli wings and orange stone eyes adorns the front, adding both color and movement. The sinuous handle is inlaid with natural malachite, a hallmark of Castillo’s signature approach of blending silver with semi-precious stones inspired by the natural world.
