This beautiful handwoven basket features pretty French randing and thick, braided handles. It is in excellent antique condition being structurally sound and sturdy with wood supports woven into woven into frame. This is an older working basket with many layers of lacquer that has no doubt helped maintain its structural integrity over the years. Note that there are two holes drilled into the bottom wood support slats, suggesting this basket might have been secured to some sort of vehicle (a wagon, cart, etc.) and used for gathering and/or transporting. This basket is offered in its original antique condition with visible (and continuing) lacquer loss, scrapes, and chipping throughout. These small “imperfections “ do not detract from the overall look of this piece but do enhance its antique character. See less
