Using an antique book cover, the surface was prepared with white gesso to seal the cardboard-paper surface (see the back side photo). Old papers, xerox, and other applications were applied to the front and ultimately sealed with wax encaustic to make a shiney smooth surface.
There is a raw edge on the right side where the book cover was removed.
This is unframed. A deep shadow box frame can be used to 'float' the artwork, giving the effect of an object rather than a 2-D work.
