Each lamp presents a beautifully tiered silhouette, beginning with a faceted crystal finial and cascading downward through delicately scrolled bronze arms adorned with floral crystal rosettes, suspended teardrop prisms, and faceted ball drops that catch the light with striking brilliance. The bronze bases are richly detailed with classical motifs, displaying an impressive level of hand-work that speaks to their period craftsmanship. Estimated to date from the 1800s, the lamps were rewired in the early to mid-20th century, retaining vintage bakelite-style plugs consistent with 1930s–1950s updates. Purchased in New Orleans in the late 1960s and held in the same family since, the pair carries a strong provenance. Their sculptural presence, exceptional ornamentation, and beautiful interplay of bronze and crystal make them standout examples of French girandole lighting and a rare opportunity for collectors of antique decorative arts.
