DESCRIPTION

A complete set of six vintage Thin-Line chrome dining chairs by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin, produced in 1974 and documented with original factory tags. The set includes four model 1141 side chairs and two model 1142 armchairs, all retaining their original mirror-chrome sled bases and factory upholstery (Fabric Code G 3577).

This series is a hallmark of Baughman’s work for Thayer Coggin in the 1970s: visually light, structurally precise, and defined by the signature floating-seat silhouette, achieved through an elegant continuous square-tube chrome frame. The bases on your set are particularly well-preserved, showing the high-quality chrome Thayer Coggin is known for.

Upholstery

The chairs retain their original factory fabric — a geometric, maze-like pattern in warm taupe and cream (Fabric Code G3577 TSM2 SWMMM 3, per tag). This textile is remarkably representative of the period and presents beautifully in person, with crisp pattern matching and factory-original stitching. The pattern complements the minimalist chrome lines and adds a striking graphic quality.

Condition

These chairs present in excellent vintage condition for their age.
