Amazing set of four mid-century modern armchairs featuring sculpted walnut frames, tapered legs, and cane panel backs. These chairs were originally used in a corporate setting, each bearing a small metal inventory plate from G.H.P. Cigar Co., Inc., suggesting they furnished an executive office, cigar lounge, or boardroom during the mid-20th century.
The design features clean, architectural lines reminiscent of Gunlocke and similar American contract furniture makers of the 1960s–1970s—known for producing high-quality seating for universities, law offices, and government buildings.
The cane backs are original and present beautifully, paired with upholstered seats ready for re-covering or use as-is.
Materials
• Solid walnut frames
• Cane panel backs
• Upholstered seats
• Reinforced joinery with metal and wood corner supports
A versatile set that works well around a dining table, boardroom table, or as accent seating.
