Vintage 1970s three-seater Le Bambole Granbambola sofa by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia. The sofa has been newly reupholstered in low-pile creamy off-white chenille. This sofa was recently used in Ryan Murphy's upcoming television show, American Love Story, about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. It was meticulously restored by the set design team to play JFK Jr.'s original sofa in his Tribeca loft. Post-restoration, it has only been used for filming. Retains original B&B Italia tag.
The Le Bambole series was originally designed in 1972, and awarded with the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. Icon of timeless contemporaneity and one of the most effective expressions of Made in Italy excellence combining research and creative flair. What makes them special is the apparent absence of a load bearing structure, the extreme naturalness of the shape, and the combination of comfort, softness and elasticity that their appearance conveys.
