Authentic mid-century, Italian ceramic table lamp by Guido Gambone (1909-1969) one of the most influential studio potters of the 20th century. The sculptural form features Gambone’s iconic volcanic textured glaze in charcoal and soft ivory with a beautifully rounded vessel base and tall tapered neck.
The base is hand, signed “Gambone Italy” in his characteristic red oxide pencil mark, confirming Providence . Circa late 1950s-1960’s. Excellent condition with warm natural patina consistent with age.
Vintage string wrapped shade is included, complementing the lamp’s, organic modern aesthetic.
Gambone’s lamps are scare and highly sought after by designers and collectors. A striking museum quality piece for mid-century organic modern or an Italian art pottery interiors.
Lamp without shades measures H16”xW9”XL9”. 5” diameter at base.
