Powerful limited‑edition mixed‑media sculpture “Triumphant” by American sculptor C.A. (Christopher) Pardell, created for Legends Studios in 1991. The work depicts Mandan chief Mato‑Tope (Four Bears), shown standing in full regalia with buffalo‑horn headdress, feathered staff, and shield.
The figure is cast in a combination of bronze‑tone and pewter‑tone metals with hand‑painted accents and 24k gold–colored highlights, mounted on a heavy polished gray marble base. The rocky base is inscribed “Triumphant” on the front and “Mato‑Tope / Four Bears” on the top, and bears Pardell’s cast signature. Additional cast marks include “Mixed Media,” “USA,” © 1991, and the hand‑applied edition number (see photos of the base). Similar examples measure roughly 13″ high on a 7″ square base and were issued in a numbered limited edition.
Condition: presents beautifully with rich color and detail. Light surface wear and tiny rubs from normal display, mainly to high points and edges of the base; no major chips or cracks noted. Please zoom in on all photos as they are part of the description.
A striking statement piece for a Western, Southwestern, lodge, or traditional interior, and a desirable example of Christopher Pardell’s sought‑after Legends sculptures.
