Here is his statement about the piece:

“This artwork is made with hand made paper lead and wood with acrylic paint. The paper is made with a mix of cotton fiber and abaca fiber. Abaca fiber comes from the banana leaf and gives the paper strength the cotton fiber gives the paper its texture. Making the paper pulp, I use natural pigment and polymer. The paper is made on a smooth table surface with a silicone release on the surface, the pulp is patted or spanked together then sponged to remove the water, it then dries for several days, the side that is face down on the table is the side that you see on the artwork. A wooden frame is made to fit the paper as well as the lead surface. The lead is glued to its surface and its soft edges are burnished together to create a surface that looks like solid metal. The paper is then glued to its surface and the detail of the grill made from wood with acrylic paint is then added.” See less
