A thin wood box with lid has been coated on the interior and base with a thick red felt. The exterior is coated with many different sized seashells. The shells were used to form decorative patterns. The lid has a red satin ribbon loop for a handle and a gold cord to restrain the lid from fold back. The box has weight from the shells.

There are no hallmarks or labels.

MEASUREMENTS
7 ¼ in wide (18.4 cm) x 5 ¼ in (13.3 cm) deep x 4 in (10.2 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 4.0 oz.

CONDITION
The design is in very good shape with no missing shells. There are only a couple of shells with edge chips. The felt base shows light wear.
