The heartwood … Read more This table was built for us by my great uncle after he retired as a professional furniture builder. The heartwood walnut was purchased as rough cut timber then aged for years in his storage shed. He planed all of the planks which is why the table top is a full 11/16". Legs turned on his lathe and the top pegged and glued. It's a family heirloom but unfortunately we are downsizing and simply don't have a dining area adequate for the table. This piece is truly unique, hand-made and very sturdy. See less

One of the planks separated along the glue joint so it needs to be reglued and clamped for a smooth surface. Some abrasion along one of the edges. There is an end-leaf (not pictured) that extends the table by about 18" so it will comfortably seat 8 people. less
