The finely chiseled brass corner pieces and reinforcements protect the edges while adding an elegance that contrasts with the richness of the wood. The lid bears a round brass plaque engraved with a finely executed monogram, indicating personal ownership.
The case closes with a functional lock and key, ensuring the security of personal belongings.
The inside of the lid is fitted with a mirror, like those found in naval officers' vanity cases.

The base of the case is lacquered a deep green. Finally, a secret drawer, divided into compartments, allows for the organization of small accessories and jewelry. This drawer is concealed beneath the opening and accessed by pressing a specific point inside the case.

The whole piece exudes a perfect combination of functionality and refinement, typical of high-end travel cases produced in the 19th century.
