Adorned at either end by detailed multi-layered leafed palmette finials atop an open abrashed field. Corner spandrel overlays in a quarter map design rendering similar to that of the main medallion but with inverted coloration. Wide banded border in a densely ornamented floral top view and cross-section forest scene. Colorful and fluid in rendering. Likely woven in the outskirts of the more central Farahan weaving center with a slightly coarser knot than more traditional Farahans. Colors and shades include: Terracotta, sandalwood, navy blue, ivory, dusty jade green, copper, pale coffee brown, dusty blush, dusty rose, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Multiple repairs and darning throughout in varying degrees of expertise. One patch on an end measuring approximately 10 x 7. Some sign of blemishes on the reverse that do not translate to the face of the carpet. Rug is supple and pliable across.
