It's been in our … Read more Dining hutch from early 18th century (top decorative piece has the date 1721 carved into it). It's been in our family for around 50 years purchased at an antique shop in Norfolk VA. That's all I really know about the provenance. It can be broken down into 3 pieces: bottom cabinet which is 56" wide x 23" deep x 30" high, the shelf with back plate 53" wide x 15" deep x 34" high and the top decorative molding. All hand carved; you can see practice carving on the exterior of one of the back panels. Lovely piece but we're downsizing extensively. See less

- The dentil carving under the shelf has 2 or three broken teeth; someone tried to glue on those pieces in … moreThe dentil carving under the shelf has 2 or three broken teeth; someone tried to glue on those pieces in the past but not what you're supposed to do, the glued on teeth have already fallen off and one remains to remove. Some erosion of the wood along the back edges of the vertical backpiece. Otherwise the feet seem to be in good shape. Hopefully there's enough detail to see all this in the photos. less
