Set of six mugs/tumblers by the Hungarian-American studio ceramic artist Eugene Deutch/Deutsch (1904-1959). Each mug is glazed in a fawn color with hints of green and brown and is signed and dated 1952 the underside.
Eugene Deutch was a master potter of useful and classically modern bowls, lamps, plates, tumblers, vases, and pitchers, bucking the trend toward mass production. His ceramics have a distinct style—rugged, tactile, and respectful of material, tradition, and function.
