This elegant mid-20th-century French Louis XVI–style seating suite is believed to have been purchased at Stair Galleries in Hudson, NY, an auction house well known for European and decorative-arts furnishings. The set includes one settee, two oval-back armchairs, and one square-back armchair, all upholstered in warm chestnut/cognac leather with brass nailhead trim.

There are also a few small areas of finish wear where the top color layer of the leather has rubbed from use. One chair has a small area of carving wear or loss along the top crest rail. The frames are sturdy, the joints are sound, and the brass nailhead trim is intact with a natural patina. There are no tears, holes, or structural issues. The suite is fully functional and presents beautifully. less
