The work closely follows the original arrangement, depicting the marriage ceremony of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph before the high priest, with a classical domed temple rising in the background.

The painting retains its period gilt gesso frame and shows natural age-appropriate craquelure and surface toning consistent with late 19th-century materials. The canvas is mounted on a traditional keyed stretcher, typical of European workshop practice of the period. Overall, a well-preserved devotional and academic rendering of one of Raphael’s most iconic early Renaissance compositions.
