The … Read more This is a spectacular Milo Baughman style vintage sofa upholstered in jaw dropping blue and white mod geometric fabric.

The long vintage sofa has a classic tuxedo silhouette with a low-slung square form and arms the same height as the back. There are 4 back cushions, 2 seat cushions, and 2 side arm cushions. The sofa has such a low profile that it looks like it almost skims the floor, but it is slightly raised on solid wood square legs. The blue and white upholstery fabric is patterned in a mod interpretation of sedimentary rock with wide horizontal layers of different shaped stones.

The sofa was American made, likely in the 1960s, by King Furniture Manufacturing Company in Baltimore, MD, and it was custom upholstered. The sofa came from an estate with an authentic Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin loveseat, so the original owner was clearly an admirer of American Modernism and invested in quality furniture.

The vintage sofa is in excellent structural condition and good cosmetic condition. The sofa is a high quality build, very heavy and sturdy, with comfortable and supportive cushions and springs. The fabric is original (and fabulous), but it does show age and wear, including stains and loose threads. There is sun fading and some age-related yellowing of the fabric. And there are rust stains from upholstery nails that appear only on the back of the sofa.

The 1970s era sofa measures 90” wide, 33.5” deep, and 26.75” tall with a seat height of 16 inches. See less
