Hand-carved from a single block of solid mahogany, the work reflects Chamberlain’s celebrated ability to transform hardwood into continuous, sculptural form.

The form is continuous, twisting gracefully through negative space and offering a different silhouette from every angle. A matte finish keeps the surface warm and natural, showcasing the beautiful grain of the mahogany across its curves. Its movement creates a natural visual rhythm, reinforcing the sculpture’s fluid design with no clear front or back, allowing it to function as a true sculpture-in-the-round. Mounted on its original black plinth with a brass artist plate, the piece has a strong architectural presence suited to modern, contemporary, minimalist, and collector-focused environments.

Chamberlain studied at Princeton University and earned his MFA in Sculpture from the University of Pennsylvania, producing more than 2,000 works in wood, metal, and mixed media. His sculptures and paintings are held in private collections, corporate art programs, universities, and cultural institutions in the United States and abroad. Known for his fluid, looping forms and his mastery of carved hardwood, Chamberlain blends modernist discipline with an organic sensibility, creating works that feel timeless, sculptural, and refined.
