This 1971 work, almost abstract in its intricacy, is by the Lowell, MA artist Ted Giavis (1920-2008) and it received the Copley Society of Artist’s Award when exhibited in 1972. In 1997, Giavis was listed among the top 12 American realist artists, and declared it the honor of his life to be in the company of his idol Norman Rockwell. See less
