A 10x13 antique Persian rug of Sultanabad origin and rare open-field design in red and beige-brown. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1880-1890, enjoying good condition for an antique Sultanabad rug of this age and distinction.
Further on the Design: The red field background sports a tasteful brushed trillion, both inviting and able to sit beautifully under furniture. Whimsical blue accents in the floral border further complement the natural play of rich and forgiving hues enjoyed here. A rare find in good condition for a piece of this origin and regal, decorative allure.
On the Condition: Some mild impressions in the central field, relatively subdued and still promising to age beautifully.
