A dapper smoking man mixed media illustration from the American Art Deco period. Watercolor, oil crayon, pastel and graphite on paper. The man stands arms folded with a cigarette in hand with a rather serious look on his face. Circa 1920-30. A large red monogram is the signature at the top right corner., possibly RF or RE. The man's collar, hairstyle and dresser are indicative to the fashion at the time.
The framing treatment consists of a simple dark finished wood cove molding with an intricate gilded fillet. The work is matted and under glass. The piece is in good overall condition with no visible staining, foxing, rips, tears or restorations. The piece has not been viewed out of the frame.
The approximate overall dimensions with the frame are 15.5" wide x 1.38" deep x 18.5" high. The approximate sight measurements are 7.5" wide x 10.13" high.
