Antique solid wood bookcase with a removable pediment and adjustable shelves. The front and sides are mahogany, with mahogany trim on the shelf edges. There are two drawers at the base, and a third drawer in the frieze between the legs, almost invisible, with a lock and key.
The interior is light wood, and the shelves and drawers have been sanded and finished with a matte, colorless varnish. The finish is plant-based and suitable for contact with food and children's toys. This is a beautiful 19th-century piece of furniture, stable, sound, and sturdy, with high-quality craftsmanship and lovely natural color variations.
