Achi Sullo was a first generation Italian American who served in the U.S. army during WWll as well as being a survivor of the D Day Invasion. He began his artistic career by painting camouflage onto military vehicles during his service.
After the war, he attended the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston at the same time as Ellsworth Kelly and Cy Twombly, followed by a year of studying abroad in Italy and France.
He was know for his geometric, camouflage and abstract works.
