Traditional tribal chair of the Swat Valley, Northern Pakistan, 19th century. A chair with a low seat id very typical style of the Swat Valley region in Northern Pakistan, with a high straight, and richly decorated backrest with turned spandrels. The constituent elements are made of hardwood, are partly decoratively turned and fitted together with wedged mortise and tenon. The seat consists of tightly plaited leather bands.
