A fine antique Art Deco gold and enamel powder compact.
By Tiffany & Co.
In 14k yellow gold.
With a marbled, blue enamel underside and a black enamel central band. The top with a pair of marbled blue enamel, hinged covers set with carved, rectangular jadeite plaques that are framed in diamond-studded white gold mounts.
The blue enamel on the covers and base are fashioned to imitate Lapis Lazuli.
The carved jade panels with depictions of stylized birds and foliage.
The spring-loaded covers open to reveal a hidden mirror and powder compartment.

Overall Condition:
It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
The push button and spring-loaded panels work well with good action.
There are chips and losses to the enamel throughout (and of particular note to the corners and sides) and noticeable scratching to the base of the powder compartment.
We were told at the acquisition of the compact that there are repairs somewhere in the enamel. If that is so, we do not see the evidence of it.
There is some loss to the silvering of the mirror, some scratches to the interior cover, and noticeable wear and scratches to the interior of powder compartment. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some other fine & light surface scratches throughout, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
