This one of a kind abstract face painting of a man by California artist Christopher (Cyrstofer) Shoemaker (American b. 1969) … Read more This one of a kind abstract face painting of a man by California artist Christopher (Cyrstofer) Shoemaker (American b. 1969) who is a completely untrained artist that was an employee at Colin Fisher Studios art gallery in Cathedral City, CA beginning in 1999, that turned being a “outsider artist”.

It measures 11" high X 8.5" wide. It is unframed, however, the 2nd photo provided shows what a simple black molding would look like once framed. Shoemaker's face paintings, exactly the same size and style as this one, framed sells upwards of $900.00. This is of course unframed and priced accordingly.

Shoemaker started painting on his free time using found materials. And in what seemed like no time at all, his art became well received. The gallery soon began featuring his paintings for sale. And in what seemed like no time, he had a one-man art exhibition of his work. (That art exhibition is on YouTube.com, simply search his name or the gallery name to see that event).

Shoemaker took notice the late and well known outsider artist Purvis Young who painted on found materials. Although Shoemaker’s paintings are completely different, the fact that both artists are untrained and use found materials. These factors gave Shoemaker added confidence in moving forward as he did.

Shoemaker’s art is collected by many important private collector’s. This painting is what we call, one of Shoemaker’s Face Paintings. He has created many of these, all unique and different. And it should be known that if this painting were framed it would be priced at $900. Therefore, this offering is considerably less and a great value.
