Munnings … Read more London: Eyre and Spottiswoode, 1927 First edition. With 28 tipped-in color plates and numerous black and white illustrations. A.J. Munnings (1878-1959) spent his early years in rural Suffolk, worked for a firm of Norwich lithographers and studied at the Norwich School of Art. A lover of the countryside, he was particularly fond of horses, and through his depictions of hunting and racing scenes became the foremost artist of his time. Munnings was elected to the Royal Academy in 1925, became its president in 1944. See less
