This finely modeled warrior, draped in classical armor and seated with sword in hand, exemplifies Dubois’ elegant realism and Renaissance-inspired heroism.

Expertly cast by Ferdinand Barbedienne, one of the most prestigious Parisian bronze founders of the period, known for exceptional precision and quality. The warm, richly patinated gilt surface and crisp detailing reflect the high standard of Barbedienne’s foundry work.

Signed P. Dubois on the reverse and F. Barbedienne, Fondeur along the base. Handwritten foundry numeration remains on the underside — a hallmark of authentic workshop production from this era.
