Fox and Hounds hunt scene teapot and creamer made by the English firm, Portland Pottery Co. in the 1940s and 50s. This vintage ceramic novelty set is hand painted on one side with a fox hunting scene- rider in his “pink” jacket riding with the hounds by his side. The opposite side is decorated with a saddle with stirrups inside a classical wreath. The spouts are fox heads in full cry and the handles are fox tails or riding crops-you be the judge. The creamer has identical scenes as the plteapot. The lid for the teapot is wonky but fits and is decorated with a fox head and a riding helmet for a knob. This set of teapot with lid and creamer are charming and a little silly but would be fun to use for afternoon tea.
Dimensions are approximate.
Teapot 9” across from spout to handle, 5” tall and the opening is 2.5” diameter.
Creamer is 6” across spout to handle, 4” tall and the opening is 2.5” diameter.
