A pair of luxury applique and hand embroidered fingertip guest towels made by Marghab Linens Ltd. in the Wreath and Ribbon pattern. This pair was made in Madeira, Portugal during the mid 20th century. Citrus yellow hand embroidery on white Irish linen, with both top and bottom edges delicately embroidered in a tiny scalloped satin stitch. The sides are hemmed by hand with the tiniest of stitches. Marghab linens are known for their expert embroidery and beautiful designs. They were expensive when originally produced and found in the wealthiest households across the globe. Even today, they are hard to find as they are saved then passed between generations. This pair is in excellent condition, cleaned and ready for use. .
