Artist Biography
Johannes Schiefer (1896 - 1979) was active and lived in New York / Netherlands, France.He is known for Modernist landscape, portrait and still life painting, museum curator.

He was born in 1896 in the Netherlands, moving to Paris where he began his studies in art. He moved to Nice in the South of France where he married and settled down until the outbreak of WW2. During the late thirties, he traveled and painted the coastline of the South of France, as well as Venice and the Adriatic.Following the birth of their daughter, future actress Joanna Miles, Schiefer and his family left France in 1941 and moved to New York, where they settled down on Long Island. For the next 30 years Shiefer kept on painting and had numerous one man shows, at the same time becoming curator at the Parrish Art Museum in Long Island, NY.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
