An impressive mid-century neoclassical-style urn in deep cobalt blue glaze with ornate gilt metal mounts, inspired by 19th-century French Empire and Sèvres examples.
This dramatic floor-scale piece was produced circa 1960–1980 in Japan or Hong Kong for the luxury export market—sold through fine department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Gump’s.
The baluster-form body features a lustrous mirror-finish glaze accented with rams-head masks, laurel swags, and acanthus-scroll handles. The gilt mounts have a warm, aged patina that complements the rich cobalt tone beautifully. A stunning decorator statement for grand entryways, formal libraries, or sophisticated living spaces.
