Amongst a soft dove snd pewter gray background, a still life scene draws the eye in with it's beautiful rendering. In the foreground, a wonderfully gradient bunch of plums lie scattered where they have tumbled out of a gleaming metal bowl. In the background, are a green glass jar and earthenware.

Impressionist in its brushstrokes and style, a step back from the canvas brigs this still life into focus, a lovely scene of everyday domestic beauty captured in the fine brushstrokes of this 19th century painting. Signed at the lower left. This large still life is in a very fine period carved gilt gesso and wooden frame in fabulous condition. See less
