This set of antique folk art carafe with cups is from the Hutsul tradition of the Carpathian region (Romania/Ukraine/Serbia).
It was handcrafted and hand-painted and is likely originate from the Bukovina region, Kutsy, Kosiv, or Marginea, well-known centers of Hutsul ceramic art and was probably made around 1940.
These beautiful vintage pieces are colored with a green, yellow, beige and brown glaze on a light base, typical of Hutsul ceramics. The decor has beautiful floral and geometric elements.
Such ceramic objects were traditionally made for domestic use and also as dowries or festive items.
