Born in Norra Mellby, Skåne, Börtz studied under Carl Wilhelmson and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm.

This work, titled Flaskor och vaser (Bottles and Vases), was painted in 1957 and reflects the artist’s modernist sensibility — a balance of structure, color, and quiet rhythm.
