This chest is made of pine wood and dates from around 1900. The original paintwork is quite worn, but this gives it its characteristic appearance. Some old repairs and woodworm marks are visible. Naturally, the chest has been treated, checked, and is ready for use. In the past, it was customary to give wedding furniture such as this to the couple as a wedding gift. This furniture was then placed in a display room on the farm, which was rarely used except for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history.
