This piece of furniture dates from 1826 … Read more Extraordinary antique wedding cabinet, personally one of my favorites that we currently offer. This piece of furniture dates from 1826 and comes from Franconia, southern Germany. The cabinet is painted with a colored striped motif over the entire surface and has floral decorations in the panels. Above the doors is the wedding date: 1826. The cabinet is in very good condition for its age. The most noticeable feature is that part of the back has been replaced at some point. The cabinet still has its original layout, consisting of a shelf and coat hooks. Two more shelves were added later. The original lock and key are also still present. In the past, it was customary to give wedding furniture like this to the couple as a wedding gift. This furniture was then placed in a display room on the farm, which was rarely used except for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. 194 cm high, 127 cm wide, 50 cm deep. See less
