The round pine dining table, model “RW152”, was designed by Roland Wilhelmsson for Karl Andersson & Söner in the 1970s. The large round pine top of this table has a beveled edge. The legs are connected by a cross frame. What really sets this piece apart is the visible joinery, which shows craftsmanship. Roland Wilhelmsson (Sweden 1928-2017) was a celebrated furniture designer known for his innovative use of materials and his minimalist approach to design. He was one of the most prominent furniture designers of the post-war period in Sweden. His work was celebrated for its ability to imbue simplicity, elegance and functionality.
