This unique piece is attributed to Gio Ponti for Fontana Arte and was produced in Italy during the 1950s. In fabulous vintage condition, the brass has not been polished and features a rich and warm golden patina. The mirror has a round base and support in black Portoro marble, one of the most precious and rare Italian marbles, renowned for its deep black background with golden and amber veins. The mirror can be elegantly tilted thanks to the perfectly proportioned U-shaped brass support. One side provides a standard reflection, while the other offers a magnified view. The combination of rich golden brass and deep black Portoro marble with golden veins gives this piece a timeless sense of luxury, a true hallmark of Fontana Arte’s finest production during the 1940s and 1950s. A unique and highly collectible decorative object, ideal to enrich a dressing table, console, or desk in a Mid-Century Modern, Art Deco, or contemporary setting.
