It has been made … Read more This is an important antique Italian bureau bookcase, made in Venice and circa 1750 in date. It has been made from the finest burr walnut with walnut crossbanding and satinwood line inlay. The top has two mirrored doors with a small cherub engraved mirror above them in the frieze. The doors open to reveal a gold satin lined interior with two shelves and two small drawers. The bureau fall can be lowered to reveal an interior with two small drawers and two cupboards which provide ample space for storing pens, papers, etc. It has its original handles, working locks and keys. This is an absolutely unique piece! Condition: In really excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed in our workshops.
