Attributed to the influential designer pietro chiesa for fontana arte, this piece is a testament to sophisticated lighting from post-war italy. The chandelier features a striking composition, suspended from a slender brass drop rod culminating in a polished brass ceiling rose. The light source is housed within a beautiful opaline glass diffuser bowl, which has a gentle, conical form and a frosted, ethereal quality, providing soft, diffused illumination. This central element is adorned with a distinctive brass star-shaped element at its base, a subtle yet elegant embellishment. Encircling the inner diffuser is a large, thin, and slightly convex disc of pink-tinted glass, possibly a form of vetro colorato (colored glass). This outer disc not only adds an expansive, dramatic silhouette but also introduces a warm, blush tone to the light's overall colour temperature, creating an inviting atmosphere.
