An important pair of carved giltwood columns: the fluted shafts rest on painted wooden bases and are topped with Ionic capitals.
The shaft of one of the columns was regilded in the 19th century; the other still has its original gilding.
The back is hollow; these columns would have rested against a wall or been included in woodwork.
Good overall condition, with some wear and damage to the gilding, and some missing and damaged wood-boring insects.
18th century period
Total height: 300 cm
Base: H 17 cm, 46 x 32 cm
Capital: H 29 cm, 48 x 35 cm
