Exquisite 19th-century porcelain by Haviland & Co., Limoges, featuring a richly decorated domed lid and underplate. The cover is topped with a sculpted anchor-and-twisted-rope finial, and each side has delicate braided handles. The body and platter are adorned with hand-painted butterflies, botanical grasses and gilt accents on fine white paste. Under-mark shows the dual Haviland France / Haviland & Co Limoges stamp as well as the Rice & Burnett Cleveland import mark — confirming American export provenance from the late Gilded Age.
This exceptional set stands as both a functional service piece and a decorative collector’s display item — ideal for the dining table or curio cabinet.
Condition is excellent: no cracks or repairs, retaining original glaze and gilt detail, subtle age-appropriate wear.
