Beautiful oval Ironstone Parisian granite tureen with matching cover. The handles on the sides match the handle on the lid and the tureen is signed by the maker, Thomas Elsmore & Son, England, named "Parisian Granite" included near the mark. Pieces from this period have natural imperfections and this piece has 2 tiny nicks on the side of the handles but is in otherwise perfect condition throughout with no other chips and no cracks. Makes a fabulous serving piece with an antique flair and a unique design that is not found today.
Considering this tureen is approximately 135 years old it's in excellent mint antique condition. Having lasted this long.....imagine the feeing of owning this utilitarian and gorgeous British piece.
