"Race of the Roses" is an offering in the "Little Gem" Series.
Every piece in this series is, indeed, a perfect gem.
"Race of the Roses" is rendered on a 9" x 12" canvas and measures 12.25" x 15.25" including ornate frame. Though the artist utilizes Impressionist technique in a very heavy application of oil paint (notice how he uses thick streaks of paint to define the edges of the petals), very saturated hues and visible brush strokes, this painting has a very definite contemporary feel.
