Each piece in this series is, indeed, a perfect little gem. "Delicious Lillies" is rendered on an 8" x 8" canvas and measures 11.6" x 11.6" including attractive traditional frame. The artist utilizes marked impressionist technique. The colors are vivid--made more so by visible brushstrokes and heavy application of paint. Unlike the impressionists, however, George uses very dark backgrounds and utilizes varying tones of black to pop the blooms right off the canvas. (In this he pays homage to his idol, John Singer Sargent)
