Constantin Kluge (1912–2003) was a Russian-born, French painter celebrated for luminous views of Paris—quays of the Seine, bridges, church façades, and leafy parks. Born in Riga to Russian parents, he spent his youth in Manchuria (Harbin/Tianjin), where he first studied art and architecture. After World War II he settled in Paris (c. 1950), briefly working as an architect before devoting himself fully to painting from life. Kluge developed a distinctive, lyrical realism—supple brushwork, clear light, and balanced compositions—that made him a favorite with collectors. He exhibited regularly in Paris salons and galleries and was widely shown in the United States through Wally Findlay Galleries. His work remains sought after for its romantic yet precise evocation of Paris and its environs.
